Job description

Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Instrumentation Technician Foreman for our Regina branch. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, and inspecting the work of instrumentation journeymen, apprentices, and trades helpers. Work is local to the area; therefore, applicants must live within commuting distance of Regina, SK.

Techmation works on a variety of industrial oil and gas maintenance projects throughout Western Canada. As a successful applicant, you will have the opportunity to work on full-time, long-term construction projects with well-established and reputable clients.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Planning, assigning, scheduling, and supervising the work of journeymen and apprentices
  • Conducting periodic inspections and providing on-site supervision of hazardous work assignments
  • Installing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining various electrical systems and related equipment
  • Planning layout and illustrating electrical equipment and features based on job specifications
  • Estimating the time and material costs required for projected jobs
  • Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects, ensuring compliance with the code
  • Keeping cost and job records and submitting reports to management
  • Promoting and monitoring site safety to ensure requirements and standards are adhered to and meet TECL’s safety culture

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in a foreman or supervisory role
  • Previous instrumentation construction and maintenance experience within the Industrial Oil & Gas sector
  • Estimating and QC experience is an asset
  • Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Flexible work schedule, including shift work, overtime, and weekends
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven dedication to safety
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive & Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR / AED), CSTS 2020, and Driving and Journey Management Certificates
  • Must live within commuting distance of Regina, SK, or be willing to relocate permanently
