Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support calibration, maintenance and repair of industrial instruments in the Kimberley region. You will work with sensors, transmitters, controllers and control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of process operations.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Instrumentation Technician with relevant trade certification or tertiary qualification.
  • Several years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems maintenance.
  • Proficiency with calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of process variables, control loops and instrumentation principles.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, maintain and repair industrial instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation loops and control systems.
  • Read P&IDs, wiring diagrams and manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure instrument reliability.
  • Work with DCS and PLCs as required.
  • Ensure safety standards and company policies are followed.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Instrumentation Technician to support their operations in the Kimberley region. This role is critical for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of industrial measuring and control instruments, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of process operations. You will work with a variety of sensors, transmitters, controllers, and control systems across different industrial environments. The ideal candidate is precise, methodical, and possesses a strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation loops and control systems.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure instrument reliability and accuracy.
  • Work with distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) as required.
  • Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
Requirements
  • Qualified Instrumentation Technician with relevant trade certification or tertiary qualification.
  • Several years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of process variables, control loops, and instrumentation principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites within the region.
