Job description

TWS Engineering is looking for an Intermediate Instrumentation Designer to join our Edmonton office industrial group. The individual will be part of a team supporting our oil, gas, mining and manufacturing clients. The role will be office based with occasional trips to site. The position is a full-time salary position; however, part-time and contract will be considered as well.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. 5-10 years of Industrial Process Instrumentation Experience in an EPC or consulting engineering environment.
  2. Develop Instrumentation related designs, drawings, datasheets, schedules and BOM.
  3. Ability to prepare preliminary designs based on vague instructions or incomplete information and seek out information as required.
  4. Ability to review and apply industry and client standards and procedures to project designs and deliverables.
  5. Cross-discipline coordination with a project team of engineers and designers.
  6. Work with client document control to request new drawing revisions and equipment tags.
  7. Conduct site visits to gather data, take measurements and photos for initial inspections and drawing as-builts.
  8. Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and complete Material Take-Offs (MTO).
Skills:
  1. Experienced with AutoCAD.
  2. Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation is considered an asset.
  3. Design experience in disciplines other than Instrumentation is considered an asset.
  4. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  5. Outgoing personality and critical thinking ability.
  6. Ability to work in a team environment.
  7. MS Office skills.
