Brief Description :
The role of the Instrumentation Commissioning Coordinator is to coordinate all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Job Function :
- Actively participate in commissioning risk management processes including HAZOP, JHA, FLRA. Ensure activities undertaken are appropriately risk-managed.
- Monitor progress towards commissioning goals and ensure adequate resourcing for team success.
- Assist in developing and verifying Instrumentation tag lists.
- Ensure project scope is divided into systems that support ease of commissioning.
- Develop, approve, and finalize System Pre-commissioning and/or Commissioning Procedures, including necessary content and details for safe and thorough execution.
- Ensure the commissioning execution plan includes materials, special tools, and vendor support for safety and efficiency.
- Develop a staffing plan with the correct number of skilled personnel for commissioning.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) by reviewing procedures, assigning resources, attending FAT, and adjusting scope based on FAT outcomes.
- Track and adjust the commissioning schedule for the instrumentation discipline.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to resolve issues discovered during commissioning.
- Lead on-site instrument pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, managing resources, schedules, materials, troubleshooting, and adjustments.
- Assist in developing commissioning spare parts lists and quantities.
- Manage an effective team environment to ensure integration of commissioning work within the overall project plan.
Telecoms Experience Required :
- Develop project-specific system designs with documentation.
- Act as package engineer for Telecom packages.
- Experience with radar, navigation, PAGA, and CCTV systems.
- Experience with control systems, ICSS, PMS, MCS related to offshore drilling rigs.
- Prepare layouts, cable block diagrams, termination diagrams, loop diagrams, cable lists, etc.
- Review vendor data to ensure proper subsystem integration and interfacing.
- Ensure interface consistency with other disciplines.
- Experience with Siemens systems is an asset.
- Review subcontractor documents for quality and consistency, considering cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
Job Requirements :
- Red Seal interprovincial instrumentation ticket.
- 5-10 years of related experience.
- Telecommunication experience in offshore facilities is required.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with offshore planning and drilling.
- Experience with draw works, hydraulic power units, mud pumps, top drives.
