Eramosa, a CIMA+ owned company, is a specialist firm providing electrical and instrumentation & control engineering to the water and energy sectors. We offer our clients a holistic approach to implementing technology solutions for process control applications to meet their business requirements. We provide conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, commissioning and construction administration services, as well as full networking, programming, information technology, and SCADA System solutions. Our team works with our clients throughout the project lifecycle and provides ongoing support post system start-up.

Job Description

We are currently looking for an individual that is interested in a full-time Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) role within our company. The successful applicant would be responsible for:

  1. Producing I&C engineering design and assessments
  2. Instrumentation selection
  3. Development of instrument specifications
  4. Electrical and mechanical installations
  5. Development of I&C design contract documents
  6. Review design documentation, specifications, and shop drawings

The applicant must possess a strong understanding of electrical drawings, control schematics, instrument installations, power wiring, and loop wiring. The successful applicant must have experience writing technical reports, basic knowledge of process connections, how the process affects instruments, different measurement concepts, and understanding of corrosive environments, outdoor installations, and explosive environments. Understanding of networking and field bus type applications and selection is considered an asset. Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or GE PLCs would be considered beneficial.

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, preferably with three or more years of experience with a desire to work in the field of Instrumentation and Controls Engineering. An educational background in Control Systems, Engineering/Technology, or Electrical Engineering is required. The successful applicant must have a good command of the English language both written and verbal to respond appropriately to questions posed by contractors during construction. The successful candidate will have the ability to complete assigned work as directed in a timely fashion and work independently while functioning well within Eramosa’s strong team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills would be beneficial.
