Responsibilities
  • Must be familiar with cement process flow and equipment functions.
  • Familiar with and be able to follow electrical, mechanical and plant safety rules.
  • Able to use the storeroom system to locate spare parts and able to input work requests in the CMMS.
  • Able to operate plant mobile equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot motors, transformers, electrical drives, starters, breakers, disconnects, electrical interlocks, temperature and pressure transmitters and similar devices.
  • Familiar with instrumentation and electronic circuits.
  • Familiar with PLC and PC programs and computer hardware.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Able to select and use proper tools and measuring devices.
  • Able to use cutting torch.
  • Familiar with safe rigging techniques.
  • Understand plant power distribution and AC/DC circuits.
  • Able to change out motors, fuses, electrical/mechanical valves, thermocouples, transducers and similar electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Able to perform coupling alignments.
  • Able to understand air pollution control device operation and perform normal maintenance.
  • Should be familiar with different lubrications requirements of plant equipment.
  • Any other activities requested by the Supervisor that is consistent with this job classification and not included above.
Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required

5+ years in the electrical field

Extended periods of time in the same position, confined space, Perform duties in all climates, i.e., weather, extreme temperatures, Heights, Lift and carry up to 100 lbs., Work in dust, fumes, gases, and chemicals.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

Climbing is ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like using feet, legs, hands, and arms. Body ability is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. Balancing: maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balance exceeds what is needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Stooping is bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Walking is moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
