Job description

In collaboration with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) and WorkingNB, the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is seeking qualified Instructors to offer Workplace Essential Skills (WES) training to New Brunswick adults in various locations, including Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, Woodstock, Miramichi, Acadian Peninsula, Restigouche/Chaleur, and Edmundston.

Hours for this position can range from 4 to 36.25 hours per week, providing flexibility for those available for full-time hours.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Business Development Manager, the instructor will deliver and facilitate classroom components of the WES program, which may be conducted face-to-face or virtually. The goal is to enhance individuals' skills to align with job market needs, focusing on competencies such as:

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • A diploma or degree in a related discipline with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the WES methodology, competency/task-based learning, and inclusive teaching approaches.
  • Understanding of employability skills and workplace training.
  • Experience working with unemployed or underemployed individuals.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and oral forms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Facilitation skills for groups and individual learners.
  • Experience coordinating team activities.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Analytical skills to assess needs, solve problems, and provide recommendations.
  • Decisiveness, initiative, and sound judgment across various issues.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, independence, and flexibility.
  • Language proficiency in English, French, or Bilingual.
  • Preference for candidates with post-secondary teaching experience.
