Job description

Location: Saint John

Position Type: Term (2 Positions)

Duration: August 2025 to June 2026

Salary Range: $2,454.00 to $3,776.00 bi-weekly based on their experience and level of post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Trades and Apprenticeship and reporting to the Academic Chair of Metals Processing, the instructor plans and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific Instructional Areas And Courses Within The Program Will Include Related Subjects In The Full Scope Of The Trades (but Not Limited To)

  • Safety
  • Trade-related math and physics
  • Welding, rigging
  • Blueprint reading
  • Other trade-related subjects as required.

The successful incumbent must be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • A valid Red Seal license in the Welding Trades with related years of work experience.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with at least three (3) years of related, recent work experience at the Journeyperson level.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching in a blended delivery format in a post-secondary environment.

  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Working Knowledge of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated, service and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
