Vancouver Island University is seeking a Trades Pathways Instructor to deliver curriculum and support students in developing essential skills for trades programs. This role focuses on inclusivity and cultural competency, catering to newcomers in the qathet region. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree, teaching experience, and a commitment to student success.
Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation members prepare students for success in various post-secondary programs, workplaces, and communities. They support students' growth and contribute to the Faculty's culture through energetic teaching, scholarship, and service. Faculty must be committed to inclusivity and diversity, playing a critical role in building the Faculty's capacity.
The position, developed in partnership with VIU's tiwšɛmawtxʷ (Powell River) Campus, aims to develop Trades-specific language skills and workplace cultural competencies for newcomers to Canada, facilitating access to VIU Trades and professional programs in the qathet region.
