Title of Course

PSYC 2F23, Statistics and Research Design in the Behavioural Sciences

NOTE: This position is for D2 only (fall term), September 1 - December 31, 2025

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience teaching introductory statistics and research design in an academic setting. Specifically, instruction in descriptive and inferential statistics including types of measurement scales, displaying data distributions, measures of central tendency and variability, Z scores, correlation and regression, probability, hypothesis testing (both parametric and non-parametric), statistical power, experimental confounds, reliability and validity measurements.The instructor must be available through regular office hours and appointments for supervision and contact with students. A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Psychology, or ABD in Psychology, status is required.

* Part-time Graduate Students and Non-Students shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours - i.e. not overtime hours - allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.
