NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to making a difference! We are looking for a casual instructor to join our Health Administration and Technology team at our downtown campus in our Medical Device Reprocessing Technician program. This program teaches skills in sterile processing skills with the goal of having students successfully obtain their CMDRT or CRCST certification.

As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in a variety of modalities and this will require the use of technology to deliver engaging learner experiences. Instructors help our learners acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude to be successful in their chosen career. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

We have a casual cover off instructor position available. The successful candidate would teach Tuesday and Thursday evenings online as well as in person labs held on Saturdays at our downtown campus (or another designated site). Evening live online class times are 6:00 – 9:30 pm and Saturdays from 8 am -4 pm during the term. This program runs year-round.

Courses that may be available for teaching assignments are:

  • Show significant and progressive experience in sterile processing with a commitment to meet the standards of CSA and HSPA.
  • Monitor and promote learner success and academic performance
  • Collaborate and communicate with department faculty and staff, learners, and the Chair
  • Actively support college, faculty, department and program priorities
  • Track and identify needs for program supplies and resources
  • Deliver a learner experience that is engaging and work force relevant through high-quality curriculum and authentic assessments
  • Exemplify teaching excellence in your classroom
  • Support and promote our commitment to anti-racism, diversity, inclusion and equity through your approach to leading, teaching and learning
  • Work with groups, manage a classroom, and create engaging and dynamic lessons utilizing a variety of teaching methods

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • At least two years of recent experience working in an acute care MDRD.
  • Current CMDRT certification is required
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in using technology; demonstrated experience teaching using Moodle and/or virtual classroom software would be a benefit
  • Ability to work independently, and collaborate with the team

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience. This opportunity also includes 11.2% in lieu of vacation and benefits.

This is a Faculty role, and the pay range is quite large, check out the Faculty Collective Agreement Appendix A to better understand how pay is determined.
