Job Duties / Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

Job Duties:

  1. Provide instruction in mathematics and statistics classes to post-secondary students in various programs.
  2. Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  3. Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  4. Utilize LMS for in-person, online, and blended course delivery.
  5. Manage the classroom/lab/activities to ensure an optimal learning environment using an outcomes-based approach.
  6. Respond to and accommodate the special learning needs of students, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  7. Use appropriate evaluation methods, record student progress, and provide feedback.
  8. Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content.
  9. Follow academic regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  10. Work cooperatively with program heads and colleagues in an interdependent team environment.
  11. Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with industry and educational requirements.
  12. Attend staff, program, and school meetings.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Experience (QSA):

Applicants should have:

  • A four-year Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, with sufficient coursework in pure and/or applied mathematics or statistics to constitute a major (per University of Saskatchewan / University of Regina standards).
  • Two years of recent (within the last 5 years) relevant business/industry or post-secondary work experience.
  • Welcomes and values diversity, equity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation and practices in all work transactions.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to arrange, maintain, and evaluate resources.
  • Competence and recent experience in using the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to function as a team member in a dynamic environment.
