Part-Time Student Pool Positions – Multiple openings/roles

Student Pool Attendant/Guards and Instructor Guards will be responsible for the cleanliness of the pool deck area and for ensuring the safety of patrons utilizing the pool. Duties also include checking and cleaning change rooms, administering first aid, assisting with emergencies, and responding to customer inquiries. You must be able to deal courteously with the public, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Student Instructor / Guard Qualifications & Duties:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must possess current LSS Bronze Cross Award
  • Current Emergency First Aid Certificate (Red Cross, LSS, or St. John Ambulance) or willing to obtain
  • Must be willing to obtain the following certifications and maintain in good standing:
    • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate
    • LSS Swim for Life Instructor Certificate
  • Must take further training to upgrade to Lifeguard position
  • Ensure participant and patron safety
  • Supervise patrons alongside Lifeguards, enforcing rules and policies
  • Instruct Red Cross swimming lessons
  • Act as a resource to the public

Hours of Work: Weekends, evenings, and early morning shifts on weekends. Maximum of 20 hrs per week. Flexible scheduling for students. This position is not a summer position. It is part-time and permanent, year-round.

Salary: $16.20/hr
