Title of Course: ITAL 1F90 Intermediate Italian

Course Schedule:

  • ITAL 1F90 D1 LEC Mondays 1900-2100
  • ITAL 1F90 D1 TUT Tuesdays 1900-2100

Please note: The mode of delivery for this course will be face-to-face during the term.

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)

Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)

Instructors with a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultations, grading, and course administration, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will work closely with the Italian Studies Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate Degree (PhD, ABD) in Italian Studies with successful teaching experience in second-year language courses in Italian at the university level. Native or near-native fluency in English and Italian. Commitment to using Standard International Italian.
  2. Evidence of teaching competence, including evaluations, teaching dossier, and references. Ability to work independently and within a team, participate in curriculum development, and assess students carefully.
  3. Commitment to incorporating web-based pedagogical techniques and proficiency in email, Brightspace, internet, office software, and multimedia equipment.
  4. Responsible time management, punctuality, availability for student consultations, and exam proctoring.
