This advertisement aims to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group).

Course Title: ITAL 1F00 Introductory Italian

Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays 16:00-17:30

Note: The course will be delivered face-to-face during the term.

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024: $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours)
Effective September 1, 2024: $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours)
Instructors with a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab each course.

Duties

Duties include scheduled contact with students, preparation, student consultation, grading, course administration, and collaboration with the Italian Studies Program Coordinator, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in Italian studies with successful university-level teaching experience in Italian; native or near-native fluency in English and Italian.
  • Evidence of teaching competence, including evaluations, teaching dossier, references; ability to work independently and in teams; experience coordinating multi-section courses.
  • Proficiency with email, Brightspace, internet, MS Office, and multimedia tools.
  • Strong time management, administrative skills, and availability for student consultations and proctoring.

Additional Notes
