JOB TITLE
Instructor/Inspector

Job Purpose
As a member of the BuildSafe team, the instructor/inspector is responsible for the training and facilitation of a variety of training courses and performing site inspections at client sites using OHSA knowledge applied to real working construction environments.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct and facilitate theory and practical lessons on a variety of health and safety topics
  • Perform site inspections applying OHSA knowledge for incompliance
  • Complete all required paperwork, completely and accurately
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Provide high level of customer service when on and off site
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Assist periodically with special projects as required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledgeable in OHSA & Regulations
  • Construction or Industrial working experience
  • Certificate in Health & Safety is an asset
  • Experience in training and facilitation of adult learners
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Able to legally work in Canada

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Shifts run Monday to Friday with a general start time of 7:30am, but can vary based on client requests.
  • Ending times will vary depending on the course or site.
  • Some days may exceed 8 hours.
  • Some weekends may be required.
  • This position requires prolonged standing and walking.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times, where required.
