Theory and practice of Applied Theatre techniques to assist communities in articulating issues, enhancing understanding of their complexity, and planning future actions.

Half course: Lab, 4 hours per week.

Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally).
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally).
Please note: Instructors responsible for a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom responsibilities such as preparing lectures, student consultations, grading, and course administration, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • PhD in applied theatre focused on theatre for community development or a related discipline.
  • Significant professional and/or scholarly contributions to theatre for community development or a related field.
  • Relevant post-secondary teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  • Expertise in anti-oppressive, decolonizing, anti-racist, or related approaches, demonstrated through scholarly work, professional practice, or leadership.
  • Ability to use Brightspace LMS, BrockDB, OASIS, or similar systems.
