CHYS 4P10 - Introduction to Counselling
Compensation

Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture or the equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students, and non-classroom activities such as lecture preparation, student consultation, grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty.

Qualifications
  1. PhD in Child and Youth Studies, Counselling Psychology, or related discipline. Senior doctoral candidates will be considered if no qualified applicants are found.
  2. Teaching, research, and practice experience in mental health and counselling within child and youth studies, education, social services, and health.
  3. Familiarity with diverse theoretical, disciplinary, and practice-based perspectives, including nature therapies and expressive therapies, is an asset.
  4. Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching experience, supported by reference letters and course evaluations.
