Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Nature and Scope
The Instructor, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) reports directly to the Program Head and is located at the Saskatchewan Aviation Learning Centre in Saskatoon. The incumbent instructs SIIT students in the classroom, laboratory or shop environments and assists during consultation hours. As an employee of SIIT, positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission and mandate.
General Accountability
As the educational leader in the classroom, instructors will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. Working collaboratively with a team of educational professionals, instructors will demonstrate a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment at SIIT.
Specific Accountabilities
Instructors are required to keep current with developments in their subject area, instructional resources and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities to suit the individual needs of their students. The incumbent will be required to organize the curriculum to create a learning environment that guides and promotes student success. These include the following broad areas of accountability:
