Additional Information: The School of Health Sciences and Human Services is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time continuing position in its Continuing Care department. Successful applicants will be considered for teaching in both the Health Care Assistant and Practical Nursing programs.

We are seeking candidates interested in combining their clinical expertise and a passion for teaching into a rich and rewarding opportunity. Instructors are critical players in ensuring quality educational experiences that prepare graduates for a diverse, ever-changing health care environment. They are committed to student success and guide students through the learning process in a learning-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current unrestricted full registration with the BCCNM
  • Three to five years of recent and relevant Canadian nursing experience (equivalent to full-time hours per year), including experience in acute care; with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system, the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members, and current policies and procedures within acute, long-term care, and community care settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners — completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent education, previous teaching experience with satisfactory references or positive performance evaluations and student course evaluations.
