Overview:
On behalf of our client we are looking for a Contract Instructional Designer with a focus on utilizing AI. The Instructional Designer is primarily responsible for developing and engaging learning solutions to meet project-specific and organizational needs, with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI tools and methodologies. These solutions incorporate adult learning best practices, maximize both transfer and retention of learning, and explore innovative AI-driven approaches to personalize and enhance the learning experience. The Instructional Designer collaborates with other IDs to identify learning gaps and needs, and then designs and builds interactive learning solutions using appropriate development tools, including AI-powered platforms, to meet established milestones and project requirements. They also maintain learning materials to ensure that content remains current, relevant, and effective, with a focus on how AI can automate and improve this process. This position requires working with internal and external SMEs to ensure content accuracy, implementing feedback from reviewers, and ensuring that content in our Learning Management System is deployed properly. A key aspect of this role is exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions for:
Personalized Learning Paths: Utilizing AI to tailor learning content and experiences to individual learner needs and preferences.
Content Curation and Generation: Leveraging AI to automate the curation and generation of learning content.
Performance Support: Developing AI-powered tools to provide on-demand support to learners in their workflow.
Learning Analytics: Using AI to analyze learning data and identify areas for improvement.
What you will be doing:
Designing and developing engaging training materials that conform to best practices in adult learning, with a focus on incorporating AI-driven elements.
Updating existing training materials based on learner and SME feedback to conform to new and changing business needs, exploring how AI can streamline the update process.
Working with operational and functional subject matter experts, reviewers, and other stakeholders.
Curating learning materials in an LMS, maintain reinforcement content, and collect data on training effectiveness, with a focus on leveraging AI for improved curation and data analysis.
LMS administration.
Facilitating train-the-trainer sessions and participating in pilot training sessions when necessary.
What you must have:
Previous experience as an Instructional Designer (Minimum 3-years preferred).
Analytical skills to identify learner needs and learning gaps and to develop appropriate learning solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design models.
Experience building engaging solutions for virtual, in-person, and blended learning.
Experience building storyboards, videos, job aids, and other supporting materials.
Experience with industry-standard eLearning and video authoring tools (Articulate 360 and Vyond experience is preferred).
Experience with Learning Management Systems (Axonify preferred).
Demonstrated experience with AI tools and techniques for instructional design (e.g., AI-powered content creation, personalized learning platforms, learning analytics).
Understanding of AI ethics and responsible AI practices in learning.
Nice to have:
Formal education in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or similar relevant field.
Certification from either the Institute for Performance and Learning or the Association for Talent Development (CTDP, CPTD, or CPLP preferred).
Previous experience in call centre operations and the financial industry.
Experience with specific AI platforms and tools relevant to instructional design (e.g., personalized learning platforms, AI-powered content creation tools).
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
