  3. Facilitating professional development sessions (both in person and remote) for leaders and teachers.
  4. Creating model classrooms to elevate and replicate best practices in planning and instruction.
  5. Facilitating PLCs and office hour consultations, including analyzing student work and formative assessment data to inform instructional decisions.
  6. Supporting data analysis and instructional planning.
  7. Providing recommendations to enhance equity of learning for diverse students, including Students with Learning & Thinking Differences and English Learners.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Building knowledge of other Amplify early literacy programs (mCLASS, Boost/Boost Lectura) to support a cohesive educator experience.
  • Seeking feedback proactively and adapting practices to improve student outcomes.
  • Creating or customizing professional development experiences as needed.
  • Facilitating district-wide professional development sessions (in person and remote).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing) with the ability to deliver trainings in Spanish.
  • Experience teaching foundational skills (phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency) with Science of Reading aligned, high-quality instructional materials.
  • 3+ years leading sustained coaching and professional development for K-5 educators.
  • 7+ years of classroom literacy teaching in K-5 with demonstrable results.
  • Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers.
  • Experience analyzing data to inform practice.
  • Proven ability in time management when juggling multiple engagements and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with technology productivity tools (Microsoft, Google Applications).
  • Ability to commute to LAUSD schools (approximately 5 days/week).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or supporting CKLA.
  • Ability to support teachers in remote learning environments.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (Schoology, Clever, Google Classroom, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Amplify ELA, mCLASS, and/or Boost/Boost Lectura is a plus.
  • Master’s or advanced degree in education.

Additional Information:
