About The Workplace

The VCIM team seeks an Institutional Trader to manage daily institutional trading workflows, with experience on buy-side or sell-side trading desks, familiarity with Bloomberg, and comfort in multi-custodian environments. This full-time role offers hybrid work, primarily from the VCIM office and remotely from the Lower Mainland, with at least one in-office day per week.

A Typical Day Would Involve

• Managing daily trading workflows
• Executing equity trades using various strategies
• Conducting transaction cost analysis and post-trade analytics
• Developing best execution practices
• Analyzing systems and providing feedback to Portfolio Managers
• Maintaining and enhancing Bloomberg trading environment
• Leading projects to improve trading capabilities
• Resolving trading and technical issues
• Managing relationships with brokers and vendors

You Have

• An undergraduate degree in a quantitative field
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• At least 5 years of trading experience in a Canadian financial institution
• Knowledge of trading benchmarks and market microstructure
• Strong programming and trading technology skills
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Proficiency with trading platforms and multi-custodian workflows
• Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations
• High ethical standards
• Ability to manage non-standard hours, including Asian and European time zones
• Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or CFA designation is a plus
