Position Details
  • Type: Term
  • Duration: May 2025 to April 2026
  • Location: Any NBCC Campus
  • Salary Range: $2,017.00 to $2,818.00 bi-weekly
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Institutional Research, the IR Data Analyst plays an integral role in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support academic decision-making at NBCC. Responsibilities include maintaining the college enrolment plan, developing models for forecasting enrolment, and supporting program viability analysis.

Data Analysis
  • Collaborate with teams to establish business needs.
  • Collect, combine, and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets.
  • Report findings and interpret data for stakeholders.
  • Make complex data accessible and understandable.
  • Transform and integrate data based on business needs.
  • Visualize data to support decision-making.
  • Design dashboards for departmental and divisional reports.
  • Incorporate feedback into reports and dashboards.
  • Validate data and perform quality assurance.
  • Develop data management and governance processes.
  • Create automation for data validation.
Reporting & Projects
  • Provide regular reports on targets, decisions, and risks.
  • Conduct data mining and analysis for projects.
  • Collaborate with external organizations as needed.
Supporting NBCC's Development
  • Participate in strategic projects aligning with college objectives.
  • Report on benchmarks and performance metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or relevant experience.
  • Experience in SQL, Python, R, ML.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with Survey Platforms (Blue Explorance).
Technical/Professional Skills
  • Experience with Data Governance practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple demands.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and solve problems proactively.
  • Understanding of cultural competence and diversity.

Candidates must demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. A valid Driver's License and eligibility to work in Canada are required.
