Job summary

Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Inspector to work out of our Barrie office as part of our Water & Wastewater group.

An Inspector is responsible for observing, verifying, and witnessing contractors’ construction activities to ensure general conformance with design drawings, specifications, and municipal/provincial standards. Typical projects include new construction, renovation, or expansion of municipal and private water and sewage treatment plants, water booster stations, sewage pumping stations, water reservoirs, intakes, outfalls, and control buildings. Work will also involve liaising with contractors, preparing field inspection reports, and assisting with contract administration duties, including conducting site meetings and preparing meeting minutes. Travel to Tatham’s various project sites is required.

Key Position Requirements

  • Graduate of Engineering Technology or Technician program is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding and working knowledge of contract drawings, tender documents, design, and construction standards
  • Field experience working around heavy equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm to work in a team and collaborate with others
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
