Your Opportunity

Our BDO Canada Offices in Winnpeg, Halifax, Sydney, Saint-John, and St. John’s are looking for Insolvency Counsellors to join the Personal Debt Solutions team in-office. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assist debtors and creditors, both in person and virtually, with bankruptcies and proposals.
  2. Perform BIA Counselling covering budgeting and credit rebuilding.
  3. Review files and documents to ensure compliance with insolvency filing duties.
  4. Engage in community outreach, business development, and presentations.

Your Experience and Education
  • Successful completion of CAIRP Practical course on Insolvency Counseling.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in insolvency or credit counseling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with team members, debtors, and creditors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ownership and responsibility for work quality and timeliness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
