A leading firm in the insolvency sector is seeking an Insolvency Counsellor to provide essential counselling services to clients in financial distress. The role involves evaluating financial goals, guiding clients empathetically, and managing multiple sessions effectively. Candidates should possess a BIA designation and strong interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. This is a remote position based in Western Canada.
Responsibilities:
• Provide BIA-mandated first and second counselling sessions to individuals in insolvency proceedings
• Evaluate clients’ financial goals and budgeting strategies, offering practical advice to support long-term success
• Guide clients with empathy and professionalism throughout their journey
• Deliver sessions through phone, video, and in-person when required
Requirements:
• Registered BIA Insolvency Counsellor designation
• Clear, empathetic communication and strong interpersonal skills
• A keen eye for detail and a structured approach to work
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfort learning new software
• Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
• Ability to manage 12 counselling sessions per day
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Flexibility to take on other related tasks as needed
