Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Regina is seeking an Insolvency Advisor for the Personal Debt Solution team to assess debtors, advise on bankruptcy and proposals, and prepare files for signing.

You will engage with debtors and creditors in person and by phone, support community outreach, and contribute to business development while traveling occasionally as needed. A customer-service background and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Customer Service, financial services banking, credit counseling or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities with team members, debtors and creditors.
• Effective communication in varied situations.
• High attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
• Occasional travel flexibility.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willing to work one evening shift per week until 7:30pm.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity

Our Regina office is seeking an Insolvency Advisor to join the Personal Debt Solution team. This position entails maintaining an in-office presence by completing the following duties:

• Perform initial consultations to assess the debtor’s situation and recommend appropriate options, training will be provided
• Assist debtors and creditors, both in person and by telephone, as it relates to bankruptcies and proposals
• Review interview forms, and prepare files/documents for client signing
• Community outreach, business development, presentations, and use of social media to promote personal debt solutions offerings

Your experience and education

• 2 years or more in Customer Service, financial services banking, credit Counseling, or other relevant area
• Great interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members, debtors, and creditors
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various situations
• Strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to travel on occasion
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
