Introduction to Role

The Insights Senior Manager, US Oncology IO, generates actionable insights that help shape brand strategy and tactics based on primary research and secondary data across customer segments – HCP and Consumer. The role requires sound market research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills to guide brand teams in decision-making, forecasting, developing promotional tactics, and overall brand strategy. Success factors include excellent communication, consultative and influencing skills, and strong knowledge of market research techniques and data analysis.

This position reports to the Franchise Director, Lung, within US Integrated Insights, which partners with the US Oncology commercial organization. The team provides objective, data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. Although based in Canada, this role covers the US market.

Accountabilities

  1. Identify key business needs and develop research plans to deliver insights that shape strategy, collaborating with forecasting and analytics teams.
  2. Assess research priorities and execute projects with minimal supervision, managing external agencies and budgets.
  3. Translate insights into forecasting assumptions and strategic recommendations for brand leadership.
  4. Create reports and presentations highlighting insights and business implications.
  5. Analyze and visualize secondary data sources in partnership with analytics colleagues.
  6. Lead insights metrics/KPI tracking for the brand, representing the voice of HCPs and consumers.
  7. Integrate primary research, secondary data, and analytics to form a comprehensive insights picture for the brand.

Essential Skills and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, Operations Research).
  2. At least 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or related fields.
  3. Minimum 2 years of primary market research and data analysis experience.
  4. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Strong understanding of primary market research tools and techniques.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  1. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) in a quantitative or marketing field.
  2. Experience with insights launches for new brands or indications.
  3. Experience working in Oncology, especially lung cancer.
  4. Leadership experience in cross-functional teams.
