Inside Specification Sales Support - Edmonton

McKenna Agencies is a well-respected electrical sales agency with a long, rich history in Alberta and we are currently looking for our newest member to help drive our lighting business.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join us in a support role working directly with our specification team. The specification team actively calls on architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers to develop our lighting sales business. The primary goal would be providing technical information and assisting both clients and our sales team with product or application solutions. The ability to build and implement a lighting design from a concept to a completed project is a necessity that can be developed. Ongoing self-improvement to stay up to date with lighting technologies and trends is at the core of how we bring value to our clients.

Specific Requirements

1. Daily correspondence with sales team to understand projects or needs
2. Lighting and Lighting controls selections based on inquiries we receive daily
3. Tech support, pricing inquiries, and building quotes for bid proposals
4. Interface directly with manufacturer partners to keep up to date with new products & technologies
5. Building relationships within specifiers to be able to identify their needs for a specific project

The Ideal Candidate

1. Has previous sales experience in lighting or the electrical industry
2. Can demonstrate education associated with the lighting or electrical industry
3. Has an understanding of construction documents and how the construction process functions
4. Is eager to learn about lighting layouts & design
5. Has interest in technical solutions such as lighting controls
6. Has excellent software skills and can adjust to various platforms (Oasis/Dialux)
7. Has excellent oral, written, and verbal presentation skills

This is an immediate position serving primarily the Edmonton area but may involve occasional air travel within Canada and potentially the US.
