For our Oshawa location, reporting to the Branch Manager, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction regarding order taking, product knowledge, pricing, deliveries, and overall service.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Contacting current customers and identifying new products and potential up-selling opportunities.
  • Responding to and processing incoming calls and orders.
  • Opening new accounts.
  • Developing customer base and sales leads by making cold and warm calls.
  • Entering orders into the system.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current products and learning about new products.
  • Identifying products that the customer requires which may not be stocked by the company and sourcing those products.
  • Providing pricing quotations and following up on quotes.
  • Purchasing (direct orders).
  • Counter sales (where applicable).
  • Shipping & receiving - verifying orders daily and filling in if the shipper/receiver is absent (where applicable).
  • Handling credits and debits.
  • Processing returns as required.
  • Providing basic technical support on products.
  • Providing quotations and product information.
  • Responding to inquiries.
  • Closing orders.

Education, experience, and training required:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Post-secondary courses in Sales and/or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Product knowledge or industry experience preferred.
