Berendsen Fluid Power is one of North America’s largest distributors of hydraulic and pneumatic products and services. We have 42 locations across the US and Canada, with a dedicated field sales force in the hydraulics and pneumatics industries.

We are seeking a Customer Service / Inside Sales Manager for our Winnipeg branch. Candidates should have customer service experience, mechanical aptitude, quick learning ability, computer literacy, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills. The role involves handling inbound customer calls, supporting field sales, and managing the branch's order desk, shipping, receiving, and operations teams.

Preferred experience includes proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, familiarity with AS400 operating system, and knowledge of hydraulic/fluid power or related technical disciplines.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Respond to customer inquiries via various communication methods, providing quotes and technical information.
  • Enter and process customer orders efficiently, coordinating with departments and vendors.
  • Proactively communicate changes affecting customers or internal teams.
  • Build effective relationships with customers to understand their needs.
  • Resolve customer issues professionally using available resources.
  • Follow pricing policies, including freight recovery and use of sell matrices and contracts.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members regarding performance and market conditions.
  • Inform customers of terms and conditions of sale.
  • Handle product returns, credits, and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Process credit requests and rebates; maintain office files.
  • Manage inventory records and quality control.
  • Oversee receiving, unloading, and inspecting goods; document product information.
  • Prepare shipments, including international shipping and inter-branch transfers.
  • Supervise Inside Sales Representatives and plan daily sales activities.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and developing branch personnel.
  • Provide technical support to branch staff and collaborate with Field Sales.
  • Oversee physical facility security and asset management.
  • Participate in customer sales calls and aim to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience in technology, distribution, or inside sales.
  • Product knowledge in technical applications.
  • Ability to work independently and support sales, logistics, and operations teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with mainframe systems, keyboarding, and data entry.
