Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Toronto is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to collaborate with the sales team and prepare competitive customer quotations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and over 5 years of relevant experience in pump sales or applications. Strong communication skills and technical knowledge in hydraulic and mechanical design are essential. This role may require occasional travel.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely customer quotations.
  • Coordinate customer quotation requests with sub-vendors.
  • Create technical quotations for rotating equipment.
  • Review sub-vendor quotations.

Job Summary

The Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) plays a crucial role in the sales process. The ISE collaborates with the Outside Sales Engineer (OSE) to prepare competitive quotations and convert them into orders. Responsibilities include preparing and coordinating customer quotations promptly, working with the OSE to sell to our customer base, and sizing equipment to meet customer requirements both hydraulically and mechanically. A high level of practical technical knowledge is essential to minimize costs and maximize order success. The ISE should have a strong foundational knowledge of Ruhrpumpen products and applications engineering processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare timely customer quotations.
  • Coordinate customer quotation requests with sub-vendors.
  • Create technical quotations for rotating equipment, including hydraulic pump selections, pump sizing, specification review, and cost analysis.
  • Review sub-vendor quotations.
  • Communicate effectively with Outside Sales, Customers, Vendors, and team members to ensure accurate quotations and specifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in pump sales, applications, design, or engineering preferred.

Knowledge

The candidate should possess good knowledge in hydraulic and mechanical design, customer system requirements, cost procurement and analysis, metallurgical specifications, machining and fabrication design, installation practices, quality assurance, and sales and marketing. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with management, field sales offices, and customers.
