With over 50 facilities located across Canada and 650 Associates, Applied supports the steel, mining, forestry, agriculture, automotive, oil and gas, food processing, power generation, pulp and paper, and transportation industries, just to name a few. In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services.

Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking and has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Customer Service Representative at our Dartmouth, NS location.

In this role, you will provide our customers with expert assistance to a wide variety of questions and problems. Unlike most CSR roles, you will build ongoing business relationships with our customers through repeated contact and consultation. As this is a service and parts center, our ability to get customers’ business often depends on your ability to quickly and efficiently provide them with the right parts and / or solutions – especially when customers are experiencing costly equipment breakdowns. You may also occasionally have hands-on duties that will require mechanical aptitude.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

  • Directly engaged in all sales activities
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the company’s service offerings
  • Prospecting for new customers and demonstrate product benefits
  • Build ongoing relationships with customers
  • Responding to customer product inquiries both in person (branch) and via phone / email
  • Providing support to the outside sales force
  • Ensuring accurate, timely order processing through the computerized order processing system

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications :

  • 2 or more years of Industrial or Fluid Power components sales experience
  • Self-motivated
  • Enthusiastic and exhibits a positive attitude and desire to succeed
  • Interest in customer satisfaction and desire to provide excellent service always
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office environment while maintaining professionalism at all times
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Analytical and problem solving capability
  • Computer literacy with focus on Outlook, Word, Excel and SAP
  • SAP experience would be an asset
