Job summary

Meridian Manufacturing Inc. in Alberta seeks an Outfitter to perform physical labor in finishing, assembling parts with bolts, screws, clips, welds, and soldering tools, following procedures and safety rules.

You will read blueprints, operate tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain equipment, with strong attendance, reliability and ability to work indoors/outdoors in all seasons.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and other technical diagrams.
• Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder or fasten parts with hand/power tools.
• Position and install parts using tools and hoists.
• Apply decals to product.
• Mark, record and report defects.
• Clean and prepare the work site.
• Signal operators to assist with alignment and movement.
• Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair equipment and tools.
• Operate read and maintain air monitoring/sampling devices in hazardous areas.
• Grind, sand, or polish surfaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Finishing Department Team Manager

Summary

The Outfitter will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at Meridian Manufacturing Group, finishing department, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the assembly of products using bolts, screws, clips, soldering tools, and assorted fasteners. The Outfitter will be responsible for the efficient completion of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

Job Duties

• Read blueprints and other technical diagrams.
• Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment.
• Position and install parts, sub-assemblies and accessories using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead hoists.
• Apply decals to product.
• Mark, record and report defects.
• Clean and perform preparation of work-site.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, and movement and of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair equipment, and tools.
• Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
• Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Work Conditions

• Job requires ability to work indoors and outdoors, all seasons
• Job requires ability to work with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
• Noise level is generally loud.
• Excellent stamina is required.
