Job summary

The Physiotherapist (PT) at Talcura Technologies Inc. works as a member of the inpatient stroke and oncology rehabilitation team, using a person-centred approach to address functional performance in preparation for discharge to the community.

The PT conducts assessments, develops care plans, provides patient/family education, evaluates progress, and identifies need for additional assessments or referrals in stroke/neurological rehab.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary program in Physiotherapy.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in stroke/neurological rehabilitation.
• Excellent professional judgment, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication with patients, families, team members, students and community partners.
• Competence in evidence-based physiotherapy and interprofessional care, with experience in outcome measures for stroke/neurological rehab.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• French speaking at an intermediate level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop care plans and coordinate discharge to community.
• Provide patient and family education, evaluate progress.
• Participate in interprofessional teams, meetings, rounds and quality initiatives.
• Assign appropriate tasks to Physiotherapist Assistants and supervise students.
