Job description

Disability Management Institute (DMI) offers small and medium sized employers flexible innovative solutions to their disability management needs. Our specialties include: WCB/WSIB Claims Management, Self-Funded Sick Leave Adjudication, and Non Occupational Absence Management, Return to Work Planning and Disability Management. Ranging in size from 5-2500 employees our clients span the public and private sectors and cover a wide range of industries.

YOUR ROLE

We're currently looking for a Injury Management Coordinator to join our team remotely in Canada. As an Injury Management Coordinator, you will provide support for the team and handle administrative duties on their files. You'll also be responsible for monthly reporting, STD and 3-month Internal Referral files, and claims management on less complex claims.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Within 30 days

  1. Possess a comprehensive understanding of the accident reporting process and the mandatory fields in DMS 2.0
  2. Become familiar with ER/EE contacts
  3. Become familiar with the Internal Referral process
  4. Understand the process for managing and submitting medical aid claims for all Provinces.

60 days

  1. Develop a greater understanding of WCB legislation
  2. Get to know the special instructions for your assigned ERs and ensure they are documented in DMS 2.0
  3. Become familiar with the monthly/quarterly reporting process for ER’s

90 days

  1. Pending volume manage less complex time loss claims, seeking assistance in Claim Review Meetings
  2. Start to anticipate additional ways to support the IMS

YOUR IMPACT

  1. Review incoming Report of Injury (ROI) Forms for accuracy and completeness, contact correct parties to obtain missing information and/or clarify any inconsistencies or unclear information on ROI
  2. Coach employers on questions related to the reporting process, Form 7 requests, payroll etc. and escalate to the IMS if they become too complex or claim specific
  3. Call WCB to obtain more information if Employer is unsure about claim and/or payroll issues.
  4. Perform initial call to employees, obtain consent, and walk them through the reporting process
  5. Verify initial prognosis, if available, and assess employee's perception of their disability using the FTI template
  6. Identify if an objection may need to be added to the claim and consult with IMS
  7. Complete and submit Form 7
  8. Assign Time loss claims and Medical aid claims with an objection to appropriate IMS/Senior IMS
  9. Continue to monitor any Medical aid or RTW claims for a decision. Escalate if file becomes complex or incurs time loss
  10. Notify ER of declined/suspended medical aid or RTW claims
  11. Send out initial payroll request to ER, and any follow up earnings request to ER from WCB
  12. For EDMP workers-Send out EDMP referral to rep and EDMP package to worker
  13. Monitor suspended claims for any change in status for 3 months. Notify IMS if objected claim gets approved.
  14. Complete STD and 3-month referrals to Early Intervention
  15. Investigate discrepancies/issues with claim numbers or accounts. Communicate with WCB to get claims moved to correct accounts and consolidate claims, when needed
  16. Send out ER reports on a monthly/quarterly basis as outlined in the ER contract
  17. Investigate correspondence received addressed to DMI from WCB relating to ER’s or claims we do not have in the system

THIS IS YOU

Formal education in Administrative area, Human Resources, or a Business type program

2-3 years experience with Administrative duties and Customer Service

  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task

YOUR COMPENSATION

At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary range for this position is $47,000-$53,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
