The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our North America HUB, based in Varennes, Quebec, Canada. This role offers a unique chance to learn the end-to-end engineering design process to support our manufacturing plant. How You'll Make an Impact
Perform material strength calculations for various elements of high-power transformers using finite element analysis.
Complete reports on transformer performance under environmental loads.
Dimension welded and bolted connections for transformer accessories.
Support new transformer design projects by the mechanical engineering team.
Assist production with mechanical effort queries for transformer subcomponents.
Work on optimization projects concerning material strength.
Support the industrial engineering department in designing tools for manufacturing high-power transformers.
Your Background
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in CAD environments (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
Experience with finite element analysis (ANSYS).
Experience in the design and fabrication of welded mechanical elements.
Bilingual (French and English).
Demonstrated skills: Agile, results-oriented, team player, creative, and autonomous.
