Manufacturing Engineer - Component Repair

Montreal, Canada

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer specializing in component repair within civil aviation at our Montreal facility. The role involves providing technical support to operations and executing manufacturing engineering activities to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes and methods to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements (SQCD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, aligning with the Zero Harm initiative.
  • Maintain product safety by ensuring processes meet design specifications and investigating safety issues.
  • Promote a zero-defect culture and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and standards.
  • Apply manufacturing process controls and act as a signatory where applicable.
  • Plan and manage activities, schedules, resources, and costs, resolving issues to meet project deadlines.
  • Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes, systems, and methods, utilizing data to enhance capabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure understanding and implementation of technical aspects of processes and systems, sharing best practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • Professional engineering qualification with recognized accreditation and pathway to OIQ or equivalent.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and related software tools.
  • Experience with conventional and CNC machining, fitting, and polishing.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience programming G&M codes for CNC machines.
  • Experience with high-pressure water jet processing and robot programming (Fanuc, ABB, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
