Senior Engineer, Port and Maritime Structures

The Port & Maritime team at AtkinsRéalis Canada is looking for a Senior Marine Structures Engineer to join their growing team. Your main role will be to manage and execute port infrastructure projects for our clients.

Our teams make a real difference for communities and markets by connecting waterways and the sea safely and efficiently. You will gain expertise in all aspects of this sector, from waterfront development to shoreline rehabilitation, terminals, and asset management and assessment.

Location: Montreal or Quebec City office

Your Role in the Team

Reporting to the National Director, Port & Maritime, you will:

  • Establish relationships with clients on existing projects and seek new project opportunities;
  • Analyze, design, and evaluate port and maritime infrastructures, including concrete caisson docks, open mooring structures, mooring dolphins, jetties, piers, and sheet pile quays;
  • Provide leadership in project management and team coordination, including engineers and technicians;
  • Prepare and manage project scope, schedule, and administration, including reports, notes, technical specifications, tender documents, and ensure documentation accuracy and compliance;
  • Develop conceptual options, preliminary designs, and detailed engineering of projects;
  • Coordinate the development of deliverables with the project team and review technical content;
  • Conduct/lead inspections of existing infrastructures and assist in construction supervision.

Profile of the Senior Marine Structures Engineer We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in designing port and maritime infrastructures;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Knowledge of maritime design codes and standards, and a functional understanding of typical maritime design considerations for steel and concrete structures, soil/structure interaction, and environmental loads;
  • Project management skills and successful experience in delivering port/maritime infrastructure projects;
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French and English (both oral and written).
