The Engine Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management team (DPHM) is dedicated to providing end to end solutions to improve aircraft reliability while reducing operating costs. Today’s flight monitoring systems are designed to automatically record critical flight parameters and provide visibility to events or exceedances. This helps the operator to make informed decisions about preventive maintenance, thereby reducing unscheduled maintenance, lowering operating costs, and increasing aircraft availability. DPHM’s advanced diagnostic solutions provides true value-added benefits that enable the operator to determine the best time to undertake maintenance on the engine and airframe.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be reporting to the Associate Director Program Management and you will be responsible to oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects from inception through completion within program guidelines.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will also prepare proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. You will also review project and budget status, manage schedules and prepare technical reports.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil or Mississauga, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?
  • Host Integrated Product Technical (IPT) meetings, conduct technical reviews and complete validation testing to ensure accurate incorporation of new engine program digital engine services, as well as lead change management initiatives.
  • Coordinate issuance of Engineering Coordination Memo (CM) and Interface Control Documents (ICD), manage Stakeholder Requirements and build Sprint plans.
  • Lead technical coordination efforts within DPHM engineering and operation groups, engine program managers and customers for project success.
  • Monitor and assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Direct the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, development, and administrative areas and provide input to the integrated master schedule of projects.
  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
  • Communicate project risks, raise change requests and/or find feasible solutions and ensure best practices and processes are followed throughout project execution.
  • Support implementation of dashboards and BI solutions in cloud platform for internal and external customer reporting, and prepare periodic project status reports and milestone achievements.
What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of professional experience required in the field of aviation with focus in project engineering

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

  • Certification in Project Management with proven program/project management experience
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Experience with Agile development standards and use of JIRA and Confluence collaboration tools
  • Extensive experience with MS Office applications including MS Projects for resource and earned value management
  • Experience in aircraft engine performance and operability analysis
  • Experience in engine control systems, avionics system design, development and aircraft integration
  • Extensive management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams
  • Strong analytical skills and highly motivated with effective problem-solving skills and collaborative with strong teamwork skills
  • Proficient at handling several analytical tasks concurrently
