Job summary

Nscale is seeking an experienced Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer to lead regional IT operations across APAC sites, focusing on data centre and enterprise IT environments. This hands-on leadership role requires strong technical depth and a track record in mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in IT Infrastructure and Operations managing regional/multi-site environments.
• Experience in Enterprise Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience in Data Centres, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability environments preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English and Bahasa Indonesia communications.
• Experience working in fast-growth or scaling organizations is a plus.
• Hands-on server repair experience and familiarity with IT hardware and DC environments.
• Comfortable with shift work (12hrs, 3-on/3-off, including nights).

Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer (Batam)

The Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, service delivery, and operational excellence across Nscale’s Batam sites. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of enterprise systems and site-level IT environments supporting critical Data Centre operations.

You will lead regional IT teams and vendors, drive operational standards, ensure compliance, and act as the primary escalation point for IT-related matters within the region.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical depth, operational discipline, and experience in mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Regional IT Operations Management

• Lead day-to-day IT operations across multiple sites within the APAC region
• Ensure high availability of enterprise IT systems and site-level infrastructure
• Oversee network, systems, end-user computing, and on-site IT support
• Implement and enforce IT operational standards and best practices

Infrastructure & Systems

• Manage regional network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)
• Oversee server environments (on-prem and cloud)
• Ensure reliability of monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and security systems
• Support IT infrastructure within Data Centre and operational facilities

Service Delivery & Support

• Own regional IT service management (incident, problem, change management)
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently met
• Act as senior escalation point for critical incidents
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement

Security & Compliance

• Enforce cybersecurity policies and best practices
• Ensure compliance with company standards and relevant regulatory requirements
• Partner with InfoSec to implement controls and conduct audits

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage regional IT vendors and service providers
• Oversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets
• Manage regional IT budget and cost optimization

About You

• Bachelor Degree in Information Systems/Computer Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5+ years in IT Infrastructure and Operations managing regional/multi-site environment
• Experience in Enterprise Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Experience in Data Centres, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability environments preferred
• Experience working in fast-growth or scaling organizations is a plus
• Strong written and verbal English skills to manage tickets, document activities, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and colocation (colo) providers
• Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia
• Strong hands-on server repair experience
• Data center / DC technician background
• Familiar with IT hardware + DC environments
• Comfortable with shift work (12hrs, 3-on/3-off, including nights)
• Added advantage if have prior experience in network infra, GPU cloud / HPC exposure
