Infrastructure Integration Specialist 9172-1612

Note: This hybrid contract role requires three days in office in Guelph, Ontario. Candidates must include their first and last name on their resume and be able to work onsite.

Description

Deliverables include KTLO, Data Centre Support, Project Refreshes, Decommissioning (Network or Server), Shipping & Receiving, and Starlink Distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical expertise to junior staff.
  • Ensure data centre availability, reliability, efficiency, and uptime commitments.
  • Coordinate with internal and external service providers to resolve issues and mitigate support failures.
  • Maintain and support IT hardware infrastructure at data centres.
  • Analyze and resolve hardware and server incidents and problems.
  • Implement and document infrastructure Change Requests.
  • Update incident/problem tickets, report on incidents, and maintain the Configuration Management Database.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to server infrastructure, including hardware decommissioning.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
  • Possess working knowledge of network topology, security architecture, server build, and deployment models.
  • Perform server installation and configuration.
Experience
  • Knowledge of large-scale shipping and receiving operations.
  • Experience with client communications, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Understanding of short haul courier processes and operations.
Skills and Evaluation Breakdown

Technical Skills: 30%

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, virtual servers (V-Centre, VMware), Windows servers (2008-2016), Solaris, AIX, Mainframe.
  • Networking installation and support (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Security architecture and backup infrastructure support.
  • Support for SAN and Tape Library Infrastructure.

Problem Solving: 15%

  • Apply problem-solving techniques for advanced systems administration and operational issues.
  • Ensure data centre availability and coordinate issue resolution with providers.

Must Have
