Job description

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Advisor, reporting to the Manager, Wintel Platforms. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of enterprise infrastructure, technical support, and troubleshooting in a hybrid environment, with an excellent sense of customer service. As a Wintel Administrator, the candidate will work under the guidance of the manager and alongside peers and business units to ensure operational goals and SLAs are met and maintained.

Main Job Responsibilities (requirements):

1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational infrastructure issues.
2. Provide input on Wintel infrastructure assignments and projects.
3. Oversee the backup environment, manage jobs and schedules, ensure successful completion, and perform quarterly restore tests.
4. Support the design, analysis, development, and implementation of Wintel infrastructure solutions for projects and work requests, including operational readiness.
5. Maintain and update operational documentation.
6. Automate repeatable operational tasks.
7. Provide on-call support on a rotational basis.
8. Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Tasks may include:

1. Conduct risk assessments, participate in capacity planning, and contribute to developing budget forecasts for projects.
2. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors.
3. Exercise creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning and delivering initiatives.
4. Advise functional leaders using knowledge and experience.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in a Windows-based virtualized operating environment.
• Experience with mainstream Windows virtualization technologies.
• Customer-oriented approach, recognizing the importance of service in technical support.
• Microsoft-based certification is required; cloud-based certification is preferred.
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours to support production issues or projects, without exceeding regular hours (no overtime).

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with storage networks and storage systems.
• Experience with Microsoft platform-as-a-service technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Virtual / Remote Desktop Infrastructure.
• Certification or experience with Microsoft SQL databases and scripting.
