ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to a Project Manager, the successful candidate will develop and implement asset management strategies for the Region’s water, wastewater, waste management, forestry, and energy assets. This includes infrastructure inspection, data collection, operations and maintenance planning, risk assessment, condition assessment, lifecycle analysis, and supporting rehabilitation and replacement planning.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Develop and implement Asset Management Plans for various assets to ensure sustainable management.
- Contribute expertise to Corporate Asset Management initiatives.
- Develop asset management frameworks, establish Levels of Service and KPIs, determine data needs, and perform gap analyses.
- Analyze system performance, conduct risk assessments, and identify improvement areas.
- Coordinate infrastructure inspection and data collection programs to support asset condition and lifecycle assessments.
- Ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement in asset management activities.
- Maintain procedures, guidelines, and templates related to infrastructure management.
- Oversee external consultants and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and the public.
- Respond to project-related inquiries and develop performance metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A University Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- At least five (5) years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, including design, construction, operation, inspection, data collection, and lifecycle planning.
- Experience with infrastructure management, risk assessment, failure analysis, and long-term planning.
- Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater systems, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems, operations, and maintenance techniques.
- Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, and program development.
