Infrastructure Engineer
The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining the full IT stack from endpoint through to server, cloud and everything in between. While this role will be focused on the network infrastructure and security side it will also support the server, virtualization, storage and cloud environment.
The role has a balance of internal BAU work as well as project work supporting engineering and customers in a diverse range of industries throughout the country.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer networks to make recommendations, and then changes to improve the networks and its performance.
- Operation & maintenance of internal infrastructure.
- Systems design & consulting for external clients.
- Maintaining and developing the company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS).
Experience:
5+ years as an infrastructure engineer with a focus on networking and security. Relevant qualifications are desirable & your experience should include:
Required:
- 5 years experience with L2 & L3 networking including design, build and configuring of switches, routers and firewalls.
- Hands on implementation with vendors such as: Aruba, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet and F5.
- Experience with advanced networking e.g. SD-WAN, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, VPN, 802.1x, spanning-tree.
Nice to Have Experience:
- Microsoft Windows Server including AD, Exchange, IIS, SQL Server.
- Management and implementation of cloud services (Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365).
- Linux CLI / server administration.
- Virtualisation infrastructure (VMWare vSphere and ESXi).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST or ISO 27001 advantageous) and security risk lifecycle.
- Familiarity with business continuity planning, disaster recovery and testing.
- Experience in quoting and delivering technical solutions to clients.
- Knowledge of Operational technology (OT), the hardware and software that monitors and controls devices, processes, and infrastructure, and is used in industrial settings.
