Overview

The infrastructure & endpoint consultant is responsible for designing and maintaining the computing infrastructure, endpoints, and enterprise applications that provide services to our Corporate, Call Centre and Development teams as well as external clients. Investigates new technologies and methodologies and is responsible for their introduction into existing standards where efficiencies or stabilization gains would be made. Resolves Level 2 system problems either independently or by coordinating resolution with software vendors, hardware manufacturers and/or appropriate in-house experts. Designs and reviews deployment architecture for medium and complex development projects. Applies in-depth experience with components of on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Plans, acquires, and coordinates the installation of infrastructure devices across the enterprise while ensuring safe networks with disaster recovery options. Acts as the primary technical liaison between Infrastructure and other IT teams, vendors and partners, as well as the business to design infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation of security measures to protect end user devices and data, including encryption, access controls, and antivirus solutions
  • Designs, builds, deploys, evaluates and maintains existing and future enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Provide direct technical guidance and support to the team and other departments
  • Identify opportunities to streamline end user device management processes, reduce manual efforts, and increase efficiency through automation
  • Drive initiatives to enable self-service capabilities and automation across all supported technology areas including software deployment, hardware imaging
  • Participate in technology evaluations and recommend standardized solutions that align with enterprise objectives and budget constraints
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of knowledge base articles, user guides, and training materials to empower end users and promote self-service support options
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies
  • Work to determine enterprise security controls and identify any threats to the infrastructure
  • Diagnoses complex network, storage and server issues and implements corrective solutions
  • Administrates automated workflow tools, middleware application servers, and server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, AWS Workspaces & Citrix) to maximise their efficiency
  • Provides proactive network/server monitoring to ensure optimum performance and acts on real-time alerts of critical issues
  • Performs hardware, software, and firmware upgrades - researches and recommends upgrades
  • Manages and coordinates the release of changes into production applying standardized procedures and minimizing risk to existing services
  • Creates release plans, test and validation strategies, schedules and tracking tools to coordinate the contents of release packages for network and business applications
  • Evaluates effectiveness of current systems and supports in developing improvement strategies based on the findings
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules
  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in for Microsoft 365, Unified Communications, Collaboration Services, and End User Compute Engineering
  • Strong technical proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, IOS) and endpoint management solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune), JAMF, EDR & MDM solutions), M365 (Group policy & Powershell), Active Directory as well as server/desktop virtualization technologies (e.g., Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, AWS workspaces, Vmware)
  • Strong track-record of exemplifying customer service excellence and accountability/ownership for the total customer experience while influencing others to raise their level of customer service
  • Strong experience with endpoint security practices and technologies
  • Experience with BeyondTrust privileged access solutions

Salary: $75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Pay Type: Salaried

The above represents AIR MILES’ pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents AIR MILES’ expected target for the first year in this position.

AIR MILES’ total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
