Job summary

Cohere, a security-forward AI company, is seeking an Infrastructure Security Engineer to harden Protected B classified environments and multi-cloud deployments in Canada. You will design security controls across AWS, GCP and Azure, lead vulnerability assessments, and contribute to incident response while maintaining clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure security.
• Protected B environment setup, configuration, and management.
• Knowledge of Canadian government security standards and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in development and production environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and make informed decisions with little data.
• Understanding of secure engineering best practices and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage infrastructure for Protected B classified environments, ensuring compliance with ITSG-33 and Canadian standards.
• Design and implement security controls for cloud and hybrid deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Evaluate, implement, and manage security tools for training cluster and inference infrastructure hardening.
• Implement security best practices including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
• Participate in security incident response activities including detection, analysis, containment, and remediation.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of infrastructure components.
• Maintain security documentation, procedures, and configurations for classified environments.
• Maintain active Secret+ security clearance and adherence to Canadian government protocols.
