Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, network administration, cloud technology or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in technical roles demonstrating increasing management responsibility.
  • Demonstrable experience with networking technology including TCP/IP routing, VPNs, Policy Management, Endpoint Management and Cyber/Intrusion Management.
  • Experience with resiliency and backup solutions, service restoration and recovery.
  • Experience with Office365, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience with process automation, scripting (PowerShell) and configuration management.
  • Experience with Service Migration and Project Management.
  • Experience in working with Anishinaabe culture, values, and perspectives as well as traditional and contemporary health care practices and wholistic health and wellbeing.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Full-Time New Position

Information Technology Manager

We provide primary health care through a range of options including prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Our interprofessional teams include health professionals, educators and support workers representing both traditional Indigenous and contemporary models of care and using wholistic health and community development concepts. The position is responsible for overseeing the information technology department, managing staff, and ensuring efficient operations. It also maintains systems, implements new technologies, and complies with policy and with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

NOTE: Indigenous traditional practices involve cultural ceremonies and burning sacred medicines including tobacco, sweetgrass, sage and cedar within the work setting.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support information management systems that meet the needs of all organizational departments.
  • Maintain Information Technology Operations and Helpdesk functions to ensure timely support and accurate information is available as needed.
  • Manage staff resources to ensure capability and coverage are maintained to support the organization.
  • Act as Network and Cloud systems lead in planning and implementing changes or resolving issues.
  • Monitor system performance and implement hardware, software, and data storage improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in sharing current knowledge on information management infrastructure and technology applications, and culturally relevant best practices for information management.
  • Identify technology risks and develop policies to manage and mitigate these.
  • Manage User Account Lifecycle and System Audits.
  • Manage integration with Ministry systems, local partners and vendor's solutions including regional network operations teams and security staff.
  • Work with vendors to develop requirements, manage purchase cycles and resolve issues.
  • Manage the hiring, daily tasks, evaluation and motivation of IT technical staff.
  • Other duties as required; in extenuating situations or the event of an emergency employee may be redeployed to ensure continuity of essential services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, network administration, cloud technology or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in technical roles demonstrating increasing management responsibility.

  • Excellent computer skills and superior working knowledge of software applications including spreadsheet and database programs; knowledge of current Ontario health care sector is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and management ability; demonstrated capacity for critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and reporting.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development relevant to job requirements
  • Valid drivers’ license and own vehicle required; copy of current drivers’ abstract required.
  • Current criminal records check required.
  • Positive attitude and capacity to act as a healthy lifestyle role

Salary: $83,287-$108,671 with excellent benefits, including HOOPP pension plan. Salary is based on education and experience.
