We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager with 5–7 years of hands-on experience to lead and support our hybrid IT infrastructure spanning office-based, remote, and vessel-based operations. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who can also lead a team, drive projects, and collaborate across departments to deliver robust IT services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the IT team to support day-to-day operations, project delivery, and long-term IT strategy.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Azure AD, and Office 365.
  • Oversee the IT service desk, providing support from Level 1 to Level 3, while mentoring team members and optimizing support workflows.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot complex network environments (TCP/IP, routers, switches, firewalls, NAS devices).
  • Supervise the build, maintenance, and improvement of vessel test environments used for training and troubleshooting fleet systems.
  • Provide technical oversight and hands-on support for cloud-based and hybrid IT environments.
  • Manage and support shipboard communications systems, satellite connections, and marine navigation technologies.
  • Ensure structured cabling and physical network installations follow best practices and safety standards.
  • Apply strong knowledge of the OSI model and network routing protocols to improve network reliability and performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Administer Microsoft enterprise tools such as Exchange, IIS, and related services within the Microsoft stack.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute IT strategies that support business goals.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Mentor and develop junior IT staff, promoting a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.
  • Allocate team resources effectively to meet operational demands and project timelines.
  • Lead cross-functional IT projects, coordinating efforts with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices in service delivery and system management.
  • Hybrid work model: combination of remote work, in-office presence, and onboard vessel support.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional extended hours based on business needs.
  • Willingness to travel to ports and shipyards (valid driver's license required).

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in IT, including hands-on technical support and infrastructure management.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, managing projects, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft environments and networking systems.
  • Familiarity with maritime IT systems and vessel-specific infrastructure is a strong asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
